Teal

In October and November hundreds of thousands of Teal arrive in the UK from Iceland and Northern Europe, occasionally from The Netherlands.  The migrants leave again in March.  Winter is therefore the best time to be sure of seeing these ducks.  Males (above) have a yellow patch.

The winter population increases x40 to 197,000 from Iceland and Northern Europe.
